Chaoyang District:  It was called as Eastern suburbs in the beginning of Liberation and renamed to be Chaoyang District in 1958, for its position is the east outside ChaoYangmen.
Chaoyang District is the largest and the most modern urban district in Beijing and is regarded as a window of international exchange for Beijing. Occupying an area of 470.6 square kilometers to the north of Jianguomenwai Avenue between the city’s Eastern Second Ring and the Fourth Ring roads,Chaoyang District is divided into 21 neighborhood committees and 24 townships with a population of 2.3 million. It is the largest district of the city.
Covering nearly everything east of the Second Ring Road, Chao Yang is the center of activity for foreign business types. Chaoyang district includes Beijing’s burgeoning Central Business District (CBD) focused around the new CCTV Tower at Guo Mao and the popular dining spots around Chaoyang Park, San Li Tun and Worker’s Stadium.
This area of Beijing is known as a financial hub, the world-famous architecture will keep heads looking up, taking in the details and lines of the skyline. Chaoyang District is also home to many art galleries, embassies and upscale residents, as well as the infinitely long Sanlitun Bar Street, a popular among tourists and local bar-hoppers alike.
