Lammaism, a branch of Buddhism, is celebrated at this temple, which was constructed along with its sibling the Eastern Yellow Temple during the middle 1600s. The Eastern Yellow Temple was lost during the Great Leap Forward. Fortunately, the Western Yellow Temple remains, situated in the Andingmenwai district approximately two kilometers north of the Ring Road on Huangsi Lu. It is considered to be one of Beijing’s Finest monuments of Lammaism. The Western Yellow Temple is open daily from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
