Beijing Horse Racing Stadium is the first horse racing stadium in China. Its construction began in March 1985 and was completed in the fall of the same year. With a l,OOO metre race course, the stadium covers an area of 10 hectares known as Kublai Khan Equestrain Park. It has a seating capacity of 7, 000. The park stages horse races and pologames, provides horse and camel rides for spectators, and operates clubs for horse-riding fans.
The $ 1.5 million-stadium is jointly managed by the China Sports Service Company of Inner Mongolia and a rural township in Beijng.
