Standing 405 metres high with 24 metres underground in Yuyuan-tan Park, Beijing Sightseeing Tower is the highest structure in Asia and the third highest in the world. It was originally designed as a TV tower for the Chinese Central Television Station.
At 240 metres, a three-storey round structure houses a lounge for distinguished guests, a rotating restaurant and balconies. From the top of the tower, visitors can enjoy a bird’s-eye view of both old and new Beijing. The tower was built in 1989 before the ll th Asian Games started.
