Picture 1 of 1

Agricultural Exhibition Centre, 150 acres in area, was built in 1959, one of the ten major projects completed to mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic. In 1978, the first foreign machinery exhibition was held here. It plays an important role in exchanging experience and information on agricultural developments.
The National Museum of Agriculture is also housed in one of the halls of this National Agricultural Exhibition Centre. The museum displays about 10,000 relics showing Chinese agricultural development over the past 8,000 years. These include fishing tools from the New Stone Age, bronze shovels from the Shang Dynasty (1711 – 1066BC), and grain seeds believed to date back to the Han Dynasty (206BC -AD 220). The Museum was opened to the public in September1986.
