Badminton was evolved from a sport name “Shuttlecock cricket”; it was formally included in Barcelona Olympics in 1992. In the annual session of BWF in Tokyo in May 2006, the scoring of badminton is changed from 15 points system to 21 points system, that is, 21 points for each round and 30 points maximally. The best of 3 sets is adopted for each competition.
Badmiton is one of the Olympic ball events which have stricts requirements on sound, light, colour and indoor ventilation conditions. Any detail may have an adverse effect on a competition or an athlete. Therefore, audience must keep relatively silent and do not use a photoflash lamp for photographing during competition.
