Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, one of the venues built for the 11th Beijing Asian Games, has been renovated for the Beijing Olympic Games. The renovated Gymnasium is covered with a layer of heat-preserving material, and its doors and windows have been replaced with heat-preserving ones, thus enhancing the performance of the exterior walls. The inside of the hall is equipped with light purple chairs, giving the whole venue a more elegant outlook. Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium currently covers a floor area of 47,000 square meters with 5,000 permanent and 2,000 removable seats, where handball preliminaries and 1/4 finals was holded from here.
